Lucky Day with Lucky Number (von Timo - Germany)
Just yesterday I returned from a trip to Taiwan. With a group of Germans studying Chinese, I took the chance to visit Sun Moon Lake. When we arrived with the bus very late in the evening at Shueishe, the main city at the lake, we were told that our accomodation was just at the opposite site of the lake in the more sparsely populated area. Fortunately we could go there by taxi, which brought us to a "youth activity center". The next morning we woke up from the singing of the national anthem of Taiwan and had some typical chinese breakfast (rice soup, meat and eggs with soja beans and the typical hot soja milk). But then we had no idea how we could explore the surrounding area, as the taxi was gone and all the attractions along the lake seemed to be very far away. Coincidentally I had a look at the backside of the building and stumbled across quite a lot of bikes, all numbered and with a helmet at its side, like if they were prepared for a race. The discovery saved our day. We all picked a bike with our lucky number (as I'm born on february 2nd I took the 22) and started a very exciting tour along the lake with beautiful temples, pagodas and a peacock garden. The picture shows me with the bike at Wunwu temple.
